I am a recently widowed empty-nester in Brooklyn, NY. I worked for more than a decade as a top financial, career and business journalist for Fortune magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Street.com and many wonderful business, lifestyle and women’s magazines that no longer exist. When the old-media industry imploded I launched, grew and sold FamiliesGo!, a website all about family travel. Through it all, I traveled to more than 30 countries on 5 continents solo, with girlfriends and, most of all, with my husband and daughter.

I’m launching GenX Retires? because as a generation we are navigating some of the biggest changes and transitions in our lives as we head toward retirement. We’ll do it all our way—as usual, we have no choice—and I want to help guide and inspire us. I also want to find the fun, excitement and hope amid all the scary, challenging stuff.
